Women Development Cell (WDC)
Women Development Cell
Aim:
The Women Development Cell (WDC) at our college is established to empower female students and staff, enhance their understanding of gender-related issues in society, and equip them to face challenges with confidence and resilience. The primary goal of the cell is to ensure that the college campus remains a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment for women, one that feels like a second home. Through guest lectures, seminars, workshops, awareness programs, and various welfare activities, the cell works diligently to uplift and empower women on campus.
Objectives:
To raise social awareness about women’s issues, with a focus on gender discrimination.
To foster self-confidence and personal growth among women.
To promote the significance of spiritual, economic, social, racial, and gender equality.
To emphasize the importance of women’s health and hygiene.
To organize seminars and workshops on women’s development and empowerment.
To prevent sexual harassment and support the overall well-being of female students and staff (both teaching and non-teaching).
To engage NSS students of Gyan Sagar Engineering College in community outreach, encouraging interaction with rural and urban women lacking formal education, and identifying technology-based solutions for their development.
To ensure a dignified, respectful, and supportive working and learning environment for all women in the college, enabling them to reach their full potential.
